Lemongrass Tea

A Lemongrass tea is refreshing and will always remind you of your last Thailand vacation or drink in your favourite local thai resaturant. This tea also provide lots of health benefits like good digestion, cleanse and detoxify the body and good for cold and flu. 

 

This drink is very simple to prepare and require only 15 min of your time. You can also add varatiotio to the drink, for me I love to add green tea powder. Many add ginger to have slight spiced taste and to get rid of excess “wind” in the tummy.

Ingredients

2 litre of water

4 pandan leaves (knotted)

2 lemongrass (pound the white part with the back of your knife)

Optional: you can use 2tsp dried lemongrass if you can find in your local supermarket

3 tbsp palm sugar/rock sugar (adjust to your liking)

 

Direction

1. Bring water to boil in a pot and add pounded lemongrass and knotted pandan leaves and simmer for 15 min. 

(Add few slices of ginger here if you want)

2. Add sugar and stir until dissolved. Sieve away the lemongrass and pandan. (Optional: Add 1-2tsp green tea powder)

3. Drink warm or chilled.
