Sambal Fried Chicken ~

Fried chicken coated with hot fiery sambal spice that create burning feeling in your mouth. 

 

This is a traditional Padang dish that goes very well with rice. But I discover it goes very well with cans of beers just like when you eat buffalo wings in the bar.

Ingredients

500g chicken wings

Pepper

1 tbsp Dark Soya Sauce

2 tsp chicken stock powder

Marinade the above for 15 mins or more

 

Spice Paste

50g chilli padi (lesser if you cant eat too spicy)

2 cloves red onion

1 tomato cut into small pieces

1 clove of garlic

Blend the above till it turn out to be paste

 

2 tbsp tomato sauce

1/2 tsp of salt

1 tbsp sugar or more depend on your taste

1/2 cup of chicken broth/water

300ml chicken stock (If unavailable, substitute with hot water)

 

Directions

1. Fried the marinated chicken till it turn to golden brown. Set aside.

2. Add 1tbsp of oil in frying pan and then saute the paste.

3. Once it is fragrant, add tomato sauce,salt and sugar and mix well and then add chicken broth. Once boiled add the fried chicken and mix well until all chicken is coated with the sauce.

4. Ready to serve.
